  • AnonymousI don't get furries,How do you become one, it's some kind of sexual orientation?, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm asking you because you seem very responsive and cool, I find furry art cute but sure to say that is not just art more like a lifestyle. please try to explain me Garro.

Uhh the thing about “being a furry” is a very ambiguous thing and everyone will give you a different answer, being a sexual orientation, or a lifestyle, or just drawing anthropomorphic characters, etc. but I don’t think there’s really a solid line that defines who’s furry and who isn’t.

In my opinion, there are different things in the furry culture you may or may not be into, furry porn, fursuits, fursonas, roleplay, etc. but I think most furries are, at least, into the art. For example, I really enjoy furry art, that interest made me start drawing anthro, but aside from that I don’t do roleplay and I’m not interested in fursuits but I still consider myself a furry. Sometimes I look at nsfw or read kemono doujins/mangas/comic but I have never feel “sexually attracted” to it. (Of course there’s nothing wrong if you do).

I don’t know if I would say it’s a lifestyle thought, I don’t feel like it is for me, but it could be for other people, I think for most it could be a virtual lifestyle, but again, it’s different for every person.

Now, liking furry art makes you a furry? That really depends on you. When is a person who likes videogames called a gamer? Or somebody who likes anime an otaku? That really depends on how important is that to you. I think somebody considers himself furry because he consider the furry culture/fandom a relevant part of his life.

I didn’t mean to write a wall-text hehe but I hope I made myself clear, this is just my opinion though, others could think different~
